Screen printing
A classic printing process that is mainly used for printing on surfaces and simple round objects. Screen printing is therefore also a common practice when personalizing writing instruments.
Technology:
The screen printing process is a direct printing process in which each color of the print motif is applied individually and successively to the material. The respective color is pressed through a close-meshed screen using a rubber squeegee.
Advantages:
- High ink coverage
- Predestined for large print runs
- Optimal printing on large surfaces and round objects
- Suitable for spot colors, even metallic effects and luminescent prints can be realized
Pad printing
Pad printing is ideal for printing on uneven or highly curved surfaces. Where screen printing has physical limitations, pad printing is a real alternative.
Technology:
Pad printing is an indirect printing process in which the printing ink is picked up by an elastic pad and transferred to the object to be printed.
Advantages:
- Printing on very small and uneven surfaces
- Filigree prints with fine lines and motifs are possible
- Implementation of prints on hard-to-reach surfaces
- Large print runs can also be realized
Digital printing
Digital printing is the ideal process when many colors, color gradients or even photos are to be applied to an object.
Technology:
In digital printing, the print image is transferred directly from a file or digital template from the PC to a printing machine without having to create a printing plate as an ink carrier beforehand.
Advantages:
- Cost-effectiveness for multi-coloured prints
- Implementation of colour gradients
- Photorealistic motifs can be realized
- Flexibility in print size
- Realization of small and medium print runs
Laser engraving
This type of finishing is used when lettering, decorative lines or even complex logos are to adorn metal components of the writing instruments.
Technology:
During engraving, a laser scans defined areas on the writing instrument. This creates a tangible embossing on the surface.
Advantages:
- High precision
- Elegant appearance
- Filigree motifs can be implemented
- Large print runs are also possible
- Suitable for many materials
- Permanent form of personalization
