Living up to our Responsibility – Transparent, Sustainable, Future-oriented.
For a Future Worth Living
With our EMAS validation achieved in January 2024, we have documented our environmental management according to a recognized European standard. This demonstrates our commitment to making the continuous improvement of our environmental performance transparent and measurable.
Close collaboration with partners and employees who share our standards for quality and responsible business practices is a key element of our success.
In addition to EMAS, we are members of BSCI and SEDEX. Our quality management system is based on DIN EN ISO 9001, while the requirements of DIN EN ISO 14001 are incorporated into our EMAS management system.
We continuously invest in modern technologies, including photovoltaic systems, energy-efficient production equipment, and intelligent energy management solutions. These measures help us monitor energy consumption, identify opportunities for improvement, and progressively reduce our environmental impacts.
EMAS – the EU quality mark
A rigorously audited system
Since January 2024, we have been one of the first companies in the industry to hold EMAS environmental certification. EMAS stands for ‘Eco-Management and Audit Scheme’ and is the world’s most demanding system for sustainable environmental management.
With this certification, we are underlining our forward-looking corporate governance by documenting our environmental management and publishing regularly audited environmental information. We, the entire Klio-Eterna team, do our best every day to preserve a future worth living for ourselves and our descendants.
Added value of EMAS
EMAS fully incorporates ISO 14001 and at the same time goes significantly beyond it, because it not only requires a management system, but also makes actual, verifiable environmental performance, legal compliance and transparency mandatory. EMAS is structurally based on ISO 14001. All ISO 14001 requirements for the planning, implementation, control and improvement of an environmental management system are an integral part of EMAS. This means that every EMAS organisation automatically meets the ISO 14001 criteria. Large parts of ISO 50001 are also covered, as energy consumption, efficiency and emissions are key environmental aspects.
EMAS is the most comprehensive environmental management system in Europe because it fully integrates ISO 14001, sets additional requirements for transparency, legal compliance and environmental performance, requires a validated environmental statement and is audited by government-monitored assessors.
