Celebrating 40 years at Klio-Eterna
01.10.2026
If there’s one person who knows Klio-Eterna inside out, it’s Michael Gleich. From process engineer to boss!
From Specialist to Managing Director
Michael began his career at Klio-Eterna on 1 October 1986 and has helped shape the company over many years in various roles. He started as a process mechanic in our injection moulding department, then went on to become an industrial foreman, head of the injection moulding department, head of production and, for many years, head of plastics technology. However, his connection to Klio goes back much further: Michael used to visit Klio often as a child, because his father managed our printing department for many years.
On 3 July 2017, Michael took over the management of Klio-Eterna together with Edeltraud Syllwasschy. Whilst Edeltraud is responsible for the commercial side of the business and human resources, Michael focuses on production and the ongoing development of our branded writing instruments. With his extensive specialist knowledge and many years of experience, he plays a key role in ensuring that Klio-Eterna meets its high quality standards day in, day out. He has been involved in the development of many ballpoint pen models. The Qube, for example, is entirely his creation.
Sustainability: a matter close to his heart
As well as optimising production processes, sustainability is a subject particularly close to Michael’s heart. His commitment to environmental protection and the conservation of resources continues to shape the company to this day. As the driving force behind EMAS certification, he has played a decisive role in firmly embedding environmental management and sustainable practices within the corporate culture.
With great foresight, he is committed to continuously improving processes whilst managing resources responsibly. This commitment not only strengthens Klio-Eterna’s competitiveness but also makes an important contribution to future generations.
Always ready to listen to staff
For Michael, being ready to listen to his employees is a matter of course. During his weekly rounds throughout the entire site, he makes a point of seeking out personal conversations with all colleagues. This direct dialogue, his interest in people and his down-to-earth nature are particularly valued within the company and make him a managing director who is close to his team.
Thank you for 40 years of service
Michael’s career is a testament to loyalty, professional expertise, a sense of responsibility and the courage to break new ground. We would like to thank him warmly for his tireless efforts, his leadership and his dedication, and we look forward to many more years with him!
