CITY CYCLING

The town of Wolfach has been taking part in the CITY CYCLING campaign for several years now. You can cycle on your own or join a team – and of course there is a Klio-Eterna team too. The Climate Alliance’s CITY CYCLING is the world’s largest campaign promoting cycling, climate protection and quality of life.

Under the motto: “On your bikes, get set, go!”, the aim is to collect cycling kilometres together in Wolfach over a set period of 21 days, to send a message in support of sustainable mobility and climate protection, and at the same time do something good for your own health. Every journey made by bike that would otherwise have been made by car counts towards this campaign!

At the end of the campaign period in 2025, Wolfach once again achieved a positive result:

• 170 active cyclists in 15 teams covered a total of 50,092 km
• This represented an increase of 10 participants compared to the previous year and a rise of just under 9,000 km in the total distance covered
• According to a calculation on the “CITY CYCLING” website, the total distance covered corresponds to a reduction of around 8 tonnes of CO₂
• This means that, as in 2024, Wolfach has taken 18th place in the Ortenau ranking
• 42 towns and municipalities in the Ortenau district took part
