Presentation: Self-care as a brand competency
18.06.2026
We hosted an inspiring professional exchange of experiences with wvib Schwarzwald AG.
Who is the most important person in your life?
This was the question posed by our Head of Marketing, Theresa Vetter, in her keynote speech at the wvib Schwarzwald AG professional exchange event. We were delighted to welcome nearly 20 marketing managers to our offices to discuss this important topic.
Some participants knew straight away what the question was getting at. For most, however, partners, family or friends spring to mind first. And that is precisely what makes the question so fascinating. Because the person with whom we spend every day of our lives, who is there for every decision, every success and every challenge, is often forgotten: ourselves.
Why self-care is now a key brand competency
Marketing is a high-pressure job: fast-paced, visible and constantly under scrutiny. Short cycles, intense pressure, and AI, which accelerates so much. We’re expected to be creative, empathetic, confident and resilient all at once. No wonder so many are reaching their limits. The keynote speech made it clear that self-care is not a private, peripheral issue, but directly influences the quality of brand work. After all, the most important resource in marketing is still ourselves. Good brand work requires not only creativity, strategy and performance – above all, it needs people who remain healthy, clear-headed and resilient in the long term.
An exchange on equal terms – open, honest and personal
Following an engaging tour of our production facilities, the participants gathered for a workshop to discuss their experiences. The focus was not on finding perfect solutions, but on honest dialogue, shared challenges and new perspectives.
At three themed stations, the participants discussed:
- Why self-care is not a private matter, but generates brand power
- How personal clarity strengthens the brand voice
- How you can use AI strategically as an enhancer without losing sight of yourself
The group’s openness showed that many people experience similar pressures – and benefit enormously from being able to talk about them openly for once.
Thanks to everyone involved
At this somewhat different professional experience-sharing session, it was the openness and honest exchange that characterised the afternoon. A heartfelt thank you to wvib Schwarzwald AG, in particular Benjamin Funk, and the participants in the expert exchange.
