Visit by the pre-school children
04.07.2023
The children’s eyes lit up during a tour of the company and a presentation about butterflies.
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming a particularly curious and cheerful group of visitors: the pre-school children from the St. Laurentius Catholic Children’s and Family Centre in Wolfach.
We began by showing the children around our production areas. With wide-eyed wonder, they watched as a ballpoint pen was created step by step. The machines, the colours and the many stages of production clearly fascinated the young visitors. Their favourite part was probably being allowed to rummage through a bucket full of colourful granules. It was lovely to see how attentively and with such interest they looked over our employees’ shoulders.
After the tour, another activity awaited them that was perfectly suited to the day. Angelika Kalmbach-Ruf from BUND (German Association for the Environment and Nature Conservation) took the children on a journey into the colourful world of butterflies. Using vivid pictures and engaging explanations, she showed how a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly and why butterflies are so important for our ecosystem. The children listened with enthusiasm and asked lots of curious questions.
To round off the session, the children were given the chance to get hands-on. Each child was able to assemble their own ballpoint pen, choosing their own colours. Naturally, the pen featured a digital butterfly print and a matching barrel design. The children took their self-made pens home with great pride.
We were delighted to welcome them and to have been able to give the children an exciting and educational day. Encounters like this constantly remind us of how valuable it is to share knowledge and to inspire young people with a passion for technology, nature and creativity.
